Gilead was yesterday's second-ranked long. This morning it reads bearish at confidence 10 across three timeframes, the highest score in this brief, sitting flat on its anchor inside the only COILED compression on the sheet. Robinhood improved on every field at once: deviation from 2.39% to 0.32%, confidence 6 to 9, compression 76% to 93%, convergence from diverged to active at 86%. And the Nasdaq gate that was twelve points from reopening yesterday is open, with 29,441 above it. That is 38 points from the print. Payrolls at 8:30 Eastern decide all of it. Full levels below, no paywall.
July employment lands this morning and it is the only thing on the calendar that matters. Consensus is roughly 85,000 jobs with unemployment holding at 4.2%. June printed 57,000, the weakest month of the year, and May was revised down to 129,000. The Fed has sat at 3.50% to 3.75% all year under Kevin Warsh, and two soft prints in a row is what turns September from a debate into a decision. Futures were flat into it.
INFLATIONARY PUMP holds at +4/9 with a +1 tailwind, so a long book is still scored with the framework rather than against it. Equities and risk assets are on, bonds are off, and correlation on the single-name feeds drifted from 0.27 to 0.32, still inside normal but three hundredths closer to the 0.35 line where bonds stop hedging equities. The structural caveat is unchanged and now two days old: the index and macro feeds read a different market, at Composite +6/9 with Leader Tied and correlation at a STRESS RECOVERY 0.48. Single names get the clean backdrop. Indices do not.
The IVT panel on the single-name feeds reads CONFIRMING at +7/8 with the divergence flag Clean, up from +6/8 and ACTIVE yesterday. The index feeds read NEUTRAL at +1/8. The separate universe scan still prints its own divergence warning, and every internal in it fell except McClellan.
| Metric | Universe scan | Change vs yesterday |
|---|---|---|
| Divergence flag | STILL ACTIVE | Third session. Price rising, participation lagging. |
| A/D net | +8 on 41 advancing | Down from +10 on 42. |
| A/D ratio | 1.24 | Down from 1.31. |
| McClellan | −88.7 | Still negative, improved from −99.9. |
| A/D line | +1,662 | Down from +1,706. |
| Summation | +11,662 | Down from +11,751. Third day lower. |
| % above 50-day | 55.4% | Down from 56.8%. |
| % above 200-day | 59.5% | Unchanged. |
One internal up, five down, one flat. Fine for owning individual names on their own signals. Not good enough to buy an index that is 4% above its anchor.

If you watch one: Gilead. Confidence 10 across three timeframes is the highest reading in this brief by three points, it holds the only COILED compression on the sheet at 76%, and its deviation reads three hundredths of a percent from the anchor, which is the tightest location here. Robinhood has the better improvement story and Robinhood is a 67% record on a 39-bar hold. Gilead is 5 of 5 resolved. The honest catch is direction: the multi-bar swing structure still reads bull at 429 bars, so this is a short into an established uptrend, and it needs the $129.80 close rather than the location.
The Nasdaq prints 29,402.9 with its anchor at 29,005 and a 1.5% band, which puts the gate ceiling at 29,441. That is 38 points of qualifying room on an index that moves 38 points in a minute. Yesterday this gate was twelve points from reopening and it opened. Today it is the only index gate open at all, and the S&P at +3.93%, the Dow at +5.04% and the Russell at +3.39% are all outside theirs. Below 29,441 the Nasdaq is the one index you can take at half size on location. Above it, every US index is a chase and the answer is zero at every size. Payrolls at 8:30 will settle it inside the first four-hour bar.
| Ticker | Dev | Reset zone | Why not |
|---|---|---|---|
| US30 | FAIL +5.04% | 51,194–51,962 | More than three times its 1.5% band and the widest extension on the sheet. Conf 1 (0F). Record is 33% on 3 of 3. |
| SP500 | FAIL +3.93% | 7,423–7,534 | A strong bearish divergence printed at the record high and price has come off it. 93% on 15 of 15 is a good record with no entry attached. |
| RUSSELL | FAIL +3.39% | 2,902–2,946 | Twice its band. 94% on 16 of 16 is the reason to keep the alert, Conf 2 (1F) is the reason not to buy it here. |
| DG | OPEN +2.94% | $123.90–125.50 | Gate shuts at $127.62, eight cents above the print. Open on paper, shut in practice. Conf 2 (1F), Expanded 66%. |
| XAUUSD | OPEN +0.81% | $4,246–4,270 | Ran roughly 5% in two sessions on Hormuz. Gate shuts $4,309. Conf 2 (1F) and Expanded 5%, so nothing is loaded underneath the move. |
| MELI | OPEN −1.28% | $1,845–1,856 | The short entry improved and the momentum left with it: price rose 2.38% straight into the anchor at $1,856. Conf 4 (2F), Expanded 47%. |
| CMCSA | OPEN −1.63% | $25.20–25.62 | Bearish bias, 71% on 17 of 18, and price closed up on the day into the anchor. Expanded 5%. Alert, not a fill. |
| SPGI | OPEN +0.77% | n/a | Gate open, record is a coin flip at 50% on 6 of 6. Convergence Diverged 61%, swing structure bear. Nothing to lean on. |
| BCE | OPEN −1.15% | $22.90–23.02 | 78% on 9 of 9 is complete and clean, but Conf 2 (1F) on a $22 telecom with Expanded 29% is not a trade. |
Every Friday edition is published in full: every level, every trigger, every invalidation, no gate. Monday through Thursday the Board goes to members. If today's format worked for you, the daily version is the same brief with the same discipline, four more times a week.

Dev · percentage distance from the institutional VWAP anchor, the volume-weighted price institutions actually paid. Dev Filter · PASS means price is close enough to that anchor that the entry is priced well and the reading adds a confluence factor; OPEN means inside the band; FAIL means too extended for a clean new entry. Gate shuts at · the price where the deviation band is exceeded and no new entry qualifies. Conf (XF) · institutional confidence score confirmed across X timeframes. Higher is better; a negative score means the aggregate reading points against the setup. COILED / Building % · volatility compression. Higher means a larger expected move when it releases. COILED is maximum; Building is partial; Expanded means no coil is loaded. None of them state direction. Conv / Convergence · how tightly the institutional anchors are stacked. ACTIVE with a high percentage means a real cluster of institutional cost basis underneath; Diverged means no cluster. WR (n of m) · win rate across m signals that have fully resolved out of those fired. Open signals are excluded, which is why n of m matters as much as the percentage. Signal tiers · S1 is the base crossover; Signal 2 adds two independent confirming factors; Signal 3 adds four; Signal 4 adds six plus regime alignment. Snapback · the oversold reversal signal fired two standard deviations below the anchor. Bar count is how long ago it fired. Composite · the sum of the nine active Cantillon layers, maximum +9. Macro bonus · the regime's tailwind or headwind applied to every trade. Bd-Eq Corr · 60-bar rolling correlation of bond and equity returns; above 0.35 the two are treated as one risk and bonds stop hedging equities. Tiers · High-Volatility strict (size down 30% to 40%), Mid-Range (+5pp band), Equity Daily (+10pp band).
