The Banks Report This Morning. Schwab Is Wound Into Thursday.

JPMorgan, Wells Fargo, Citi, Goldman and UnitedHealth all report before the bell. Schwab reports Thursday and is the short: wound as tight as the terminal measures, and two cents of bounce from its sell window before the open. BlackRock is still the long and still needs a dip, a day before its own report. Arm fell back onto the price large money paid. Schwab’s window edge at $97.32 is the number.

Before The Bell · Three Crossed, One Landed

Ten stocks on this scan carry a pre-market print. Three crossed their cost line before the bell: Wells Fargo and UnitedHealth upward on their earnings morning, and Editas back over its line, which turns its short into a wait. Arm dropped straight onto its line. Same side of the line as Monday’s close: trade as written. Other side: wait for the first four-hour close after 15:30 CEST. Every pre-market price against its cost line is in the members’ half.

1SCHWShort🔒 MembersBroke down from $107 in September, bounced, and is now wound as tight as the terminal reads. The bounce has carried it to the edge of the sell windowConf 3 / 1 frame · coiled 100% · +.03R over 96 signals, range −.06 to +.13 · amber, improving, 4.1-point cushionHalf
2BLKLong🔒 MembersCoiled at the top of a four-week box with nine readings agreeing. The only green light on the scan, but it closed past its window againConf 9 / 2 frames · coiled 90% · +.10R over 70 signals, range +.01 to +.19 · green, fading, 14.9-point cushionFull
3ARMLong🔒 MembersFell from $335 onto the price large money paid over the whole swing. The pre-market print sits right on itConf 2 / 2 frames · expanded 33% · 8 of 20 signals, no rate yet · no light, sized at halfHalf
4EDITShort🔒 MembersA fresh tier 2 sell with five readings agreeing on three frames. It crossed back over its line before the bell, so it waits for the closeConf 5 / 3 frames · expanded 41% · 18 of 20 signals, no rate yet · no light, sized at halfHalf
If you watch one, watch Schwab. It is the only chart on the scan wound to 100%, its light is improving, and it needs two cents of bounce to qualify. BlackRock has the better record and the only green light, but it sits past its window the day before it reports.

Schwab · Window Edge
$97.32

Schwab closed Monday at $97.07 and printed $97.30 before the bell. The cost line sits at $99.30. At $97.32 or higher the short qualifies at half size. Below it, you are selling a drop that has already happened.

You can check this against the tape yourself, which is why it sits on the free side of the gate. The exit and the targets do not.

What The Words Mean

Cost line (the anchor) · the volume-weighted price large money actually paid over the current swing. Everything in this brief is measured as distance from it. Buy near it and you are paying what they paid. Buy far above it and you are paying their profit.  Entry window · how far from the cost line a new entry can still be sensibly priced. Inside it, the entry is fairly priced. Past it, the move has already run and you wait for a pullback.  Compression · how tightly the range has wound, from 0 to 100%. High means the next move should be a big one. It says nothing about direction, and it never overrides a shut window.  Confirmation · how many independent readings agree, and across how many timeframes. Higher on both counts is better.  Record · the average result per signal in units of risk, where being stopped out is exactly −1.00. Always published with the number of finished signals behind it, and measured over the same history the settings were chosen on. Below 20 finished signals no rate is published. A short record is not a verdict on the chart, only on what can be measured yet.  Trend light · green means full size, amber means half, red means no new entry however good the chart looks. A chart with no light yet, because its record is still being built, is sized at half. The cushion is how close the light is to changing.

Readings captured Tuesday 13 October 2026 between 07:35 and 07:42 CEST from the IVT v14.4 terminal, on four-hour bars. Prices marked pre-market are extended-hours prints. US exchanges open at 15:30 CEST. Cost lines and window edges are derived from the terminal’s published percentage distances. Index levels are CFD feeds and differ from the cash index and your futures contract. Support and resistance levels are read off the chart and are approximate.

Records are in-sample and forecast nothing. No rate is published on fewer than twenty finished signals, and the sample size is printed beside every one. Wells Fargo and UnitedHealth report this morning, BlackRock Wednesday and Schwab Thursday. Check Arm’s and Editas’s report dates before holding through one.
