Brent crossed $110 after a drone strike on a Saudi oil field, and Nasdaq futures sat about 1% lower overnight. On the scan, three of 17 charts carry a green light. Atlanticus is the short already working. Synchrony flipped to a buy. Alphabet opens on its number, $327.62, the price large money paid for it.
| Sell | Atlanticus short, full size, still live. Wednesday’s bounce stopped short of its line, which makes it a better place to sell. |
| Buy | Synchrony long, full size, on the first four-hour close after the open over its line. Wednesday’s short filled on the first close and was stopped on the second, 61 cents against. |
| Buy | Alphabet long, full size, on the first four-hour close after the open over $327.62. Flat before it reports on 28 October. |
| Half | Lincoln Electric and Strategic Education short, Royal Caribbean and Avalanche long. Pinnacle only if it opens back inside its window. |
| Skip | All four indices, Intuitive, Strategy, Toyota, CNA and Hingham. Nine of 17 charts carry a red light. |
Houthi drones struck Saudi targets on Wednesday and killed two people at an Aramco oil field. Brent settled at $108.82 and traded above $110 in Asia this morning, with the 10-year Treasury yield already over 5.1%. Stocks shrugged it off on the day: the S&P 500 closed 0.58% higher at 7,757.17, though the equal-weight version rose only 0.36%.
The two clocks agree again. Stock charts moved from Accumulation, +1, to Late Cycle, +5 of 10.5, as risk appetite came back on, and the index charts went from +4 to +5. Longs lose a point. Bonds and stocks move together at 0.33, under the 0.35 stress line, so each chart’s light sets its own size.

Alphabet closed Wednesday at $330.93 and printed $327.16 overnight, 46 cents under its line, as Nasdaq futures fell. A first four-hour close after the open over $327.62 puts the long on. A close under it and you wait.
You can check this against the tape by 19:30 CEST, which is why it sits on the free side of the gate. The exit and the targets do not.
Enter your Cantillon Research subscriber email to unlock the complete October 22, 2026 brief: the Atlanticus short, the Synchrony and Alphabet longs with their bands and exits, five half-size plans and the day each must be flat by, every overnight print against its cost line, and all 17 four-hour captures.
Every Friday the complete brief ships open, with all levels, every execution block and all terminal captures, and no gate anywhere on the page.
Cost line (the anchor) · the volume-weighted price large money actually paid over the current swing. Everything in this brief is measured as distance from it. Buy near it and you are paying what they paid. Buy far above it and you are paying their profit. Entry window · how far from the cost line a new entry can still be sensibly priced. Inside it, the entry is fairly priced. Past it, the move has already run and you wait for a pullback. Compression · how tightly the range has wound, from 0 to 100%. High means the next move should be a big one. It says nothing about direction, and it never overrides a shut window. Confirmation · how many independent readings agree, and across how many timeframes. Higher on both counts is better. Record · the average result per signal in units of risk, where being stopped out is exactly −1.00. Always published with the number of finished signals behind it, and measured over the same history the settings were chosen on. Below 20 finished signals no rate is published. A short record is not a verdict on the chart, only on what can be measured yet. Trend light · green means full size, amber means half, red means no new entry however good the chart looks. A chart with no light yet, because its record is still being built, is sized at half. The cushion is how close the light is to changing.
Readings captured Thursday 22 October 2026 from the IVT v14.4 terminal on four-hour bars between 08:47 and 08:57 CEST. Stock readings reflect Wednesday’s close. Index levels are live CFD feeds and differ from the cash index and your futures contract. US exchanges open at 15:30 CEST until Friday; Europe leaves summer time on Sunday, so from Monday they open at 14:30 CET. Cost lines and window edges are derived from the terminal’s published percentage distances. Support and resistance levels are read off the chart and are approximate.
Records are in-sample and forecast nothing. No rate is published on fewer than twenty finished signals, and the sample size is printed beside every one. Royal Caribbean and Lincoln Electric report before the open on 27 October, Alphabet on 28 October. Do not hold a four-hour trade through a report.
